A few weeks ago we decided to do something different and go on a safari! Lion Country Safari has over 1,000 animals on 300 acres of land from around the world. The park is dedicated to conserving, caring for the animals, and educating the public.
We decided to do the drive-through part of the park as soon as we arrived. They divided this section of the park into “countries” and placed each animal in the appropriate country. We were given a CD to listen to as we slowly drove through each “country.” The CD was helpful, it gave us background information on each animal as we passed by them. The park does not allow guests to open their doors or windows, but that does not take away from the experience. My personal favorite were the giraffes, they came up so close to our car while a staff member fed them.
We quickly found a parking spot near the entrance of the park. Score! We entered into the amusement park section of the park and we were stunned by the beauty. There were so many things to do! They had everything from putt-putt, boat rides, petting zoos, animal feedings, water parks, and more! They also had a variety of dinning options, snack stands, and little gift shops.
Unfortunately we were limited on time so we didn’t get to do everything, you could definitely spend an entire day there. We got to see some of the exhibits, paddle boat, and play putt-putt. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Lion Country Safari and highly recommend going to everyone. It’s perfect for the kids, a day with friends, or a date!
Tickets range from $28-37 per person. If you order tickets online, you get a discount on parking. They also offer annual passes.
